Still alive and about 170.000 log entries for 12 hours.
Unfortunately, there were no really creative attacks until now. The webserver is still running and the website is unchanged :-)
Halting the box with customized packets leads us to the conclusion that NT is not the right OS for running FW-1. But at least
nobody broke into our local network behind the FW and nobody changed the firewalls's rules or any data stored on our boxes.

The Oesiente (NT File and Printserver) is still online and uncraced. We had
some portscans and PW-Trials. We rebooted the machine this morning.
Yesterday me made (as already published) some remote logins with valid usernames
and passwords. Maybe we do this today again ...

PLEASE HELP and we get Africa Connected!
In order to be a real global network and culture, the Internetcommunity is
now trying to force the availability of hosts and Internetconnections in
Africa.
I have been in in Togo and Benin (Western Africa) this year and started an
educational computerproject there. We left about 20 machnines there, which
now are used to educate other people (train the trainer).
In next year we will try to setup a network in Sambia. Any help will be
gereatly appreciated. We need:
* Hardware
* Transport of Hardware
* Configuration and Knowhow
* Fundrasing and Money
* Computer-Trainers and Computerexperts

I have a laptop with a Maestro2 Soundcard. I've found
A. Cox has done some work on it on the 2.2.10-ac patches but he says is
not planning to do any more work on it. Has anybody got the patches
working?
I also know you can boot in windows load the drivers and the warm boot
to linux and configure it as a SB Pro sound card. But I haven't been
successful with the module parameters.

ftp.camp.ccc.de ist tierisch unter Load und operiert schon seit gestern
am PCI-Limit. Wir haben unterwegs über 300 User gemessen, und weil
Idioten Web-Browser benutzen, treibt die Fluktuation die Load auf der
Kiste unnötig hoch. Der Server hatte eine Load von >90. Ich habe den
FTP-Server durch einen anderen ersetzt, der ein paar Linux-2.2
spezifische Tricks benutzt, u.a. sendfile, und der Server ist jetzt
spürbar entlastet. Trotzdem: von der Gigabit-Karte bleiben auf dem
PCI-Bus höchstens 40 MB/s übrig, wenn man Platten-Zugriffe und
SMP-Cache-Kohärenz reinrechnet, und wenn sich die 300 Leute teilen,
bleiben halt nicht deutlich über 100k/s pro User. Ich überlege, ob ich
die User-Zahl doch limitieren soll.
ftp.camp.ccc.de is pummeled by the load you create, and since yesterday
it is limited by the PCI bus throughput. We have counted >300 users at
once, and because of idiots using web browsers to do FTP the load
(number of processes that want to do be scheduled by the operating
system) has been steadily increasing to >90. I apparently improved the
situation now by installing a different FTP daemon. Anyway: the Gigabit
Ethernet card has a maximum theoretical bandwidth of 40 MB/s on the PCI
bus, if you consider the disk accesses and the SMP cache coherence
overhead, and if you divide that by 300 users you get a little over
100k/s per user. I am actively considering to implement a limit on the
number of concurrent connections. |

Dear Hackers,
Microsoft Windows NT - a mess or one of the best OS on the market?
We have spent approx 1 hour in securing our NT-box on this campnet -
and we are sure you wont get in. But try it: 194.24.134.117 waits for
you. There is a textfile (pure ASCII) in \\notent\securedata called
securetext.txt you will not be able to read - except if you succeed in
breaking the NT-Security.
Some more info to make it easier:
OS: NT4 SP5
No other 3rd party securing-tools
The Textfile is NOT encrypted - only NT-ACLs secure it.

Kurz vor der Landung der Heart of Gold kam es am 6.7.99 zu mehreren Hausdurchsuchungen in Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen und Lüchow-Dannenberg. Beschuldigt werden 11 Personen Anschläge gegen Oberleitungen der Deutschen Bahn (da soll Strom drin sein) Ende 96 und 97 wegen derer Beteiligung an Atom-Transporten durchgefuehrt zu haben.
Zufaelligerweise (?) wurde hierbei auch einer der Autoren des AutorInnenkollektivs KEINE PANIK durchsucht. Dieses Kollektiv hatte die deutsche Ausgabe des überaus preiswerten und sympathischen, allerdings weitgehend harmlosen "Kleinen Abhoerratgebers" herausgegeben.
In diesem Rahmen fielen der Staatsmacht haufenweise Disketten, PCs und Laptops in die Hände, die sich mittlerweile beim Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik befinden. In den Haenden des BSI befinden sich nunmehr mehere PGP 2.6.3.in secrings und pubrings, so dass jetzt der IDEA Algorithmus auf dem Pruefstand stehen duerfte. Das BSI tritt gegen GUTE Passwoerter an (ziemlich lang, mittlere Entropie). Darüberhinaus haben die staatlichen Computerspezialisten meherer blowfish-Container(Best-Crypt) und einige verschlüsselte Disketten, deren Algorythmus wir hier nicht verraten moechten.
Da wir auf unser Recht der staatsunabhaengigen Kommunikation bestehen, wuenschen wir dem BSI Burning Crays.

Please don´t spend to much water while taking showers. Same for the toilets. Please close the watertaps. Here is no canalisation and the dirty water is collected in container. They are almost full.
Because of that the showers will only be openend in the morning hours.
But their is a nice lake. Try it out. |

"Enabled" ist HTTP und ein FTP-Zugang (ohne PWD, natürlich :-)) ) ist auch eingerichtet. Der Rest, derfür die Manipulation der Webseite nötig ist, muß natürlich von den Hackern selbst "erarbeitet" werden.

Die Ipv6-Infrastruktur sollte eigentlich nun funktionieren. Ein anständig konfiguriertes System sollte den IPv6-Router automatisch finden, und die IP-Adresse und das Routing selbst einstellen. Rückfragen an kju@flummi.de.
